In August 2005, the Toronto Argonauts rallied a small group of concerned citizens to come together in response to the increase in gun violence in the GTA and beyond, and so began the Stop the Violence Campaign.  2005 soon became known as the year of the gun.

Due to an overwhelming caring spirit from the community to support this campaign, the Toronto Argonauts Football Club moved to establish The Argos Foundation. At the core of The Argos Foundation is a common passion for caring shared by its staff, volunteers and the community at large.  This heart-felt commitment to empower youth in our community is what The Argos Foundation is all about.

The Toronto Argonauts have a history of community involvement and providing positive role models for youth.  The Argos Foundation is the charitable arm of the Toronto Argonauts Football Club, and "Stop the Violence" was the first initiative of the Foundation.
