THE ARGOS FOUNDATION AND WALMART CANADA PARTNER UP FOR THE 5TH ANNUAL PAPER FOOTBALL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN.

 

The Argos Foundation is pleased to announce the 5th Annual Paper Football Fundraising Campaign in partnership with Walmart Canada.  The sale of paper footballs kicked off on July 23rd, and now is your chance to contribute at your neighbourhood Walmart!  Stores participating in this year’s campaign include:

Launched in 2005, The Argos Foundation has established itself as a leading organization impacting youth in the Greater Toronto Area.  Through three main programs, The Huddle Up Bullying Prevention Program, The Level the Playing Field Program and The Youth Mentorship Program, we are impacting youth of all backgrounds through bullying prevention and safety, the benefits of dedication and extra-curricular activities, and the development of decision making and life choices.  The Argos Foundation is committed to eradicating youth violence as well as engaging in avenues that support youth empowerment.

Now you have the opportunity to make each Argo touchdown more exciting and more impactful than ever before!  Sign up for  TOONIES FOR TOUCHDOWNS and make a difference in the lives of thousands of youth across the City of Toronto.

 

Here’s how.  Pledge a donation amount of your choice to The Argos Foundation for every touchdown the Argos score in all regular season action.  We’ll keep track, tally your donation and let you know at the beginning of every month the donation and the difference you have made!!  At the end of the year, we’ll provide you with a tax receipt for the full amount of your donation.

 

Just how many touchdowns will the Double Blue thrill us with this year??  Why don’t YOU tell US!  Guess the correct number of touchdowns in all regular season action, or come the closest and you win a Michael “Pinball” Clemons signed football!

Believe in Them: An Evening to Support Youth Empowerment

 

Toronto – Grammy and Juno Award winner Dan Hill headlined an intimate fundraiser in support of the programs of The Argos Foundation, the charitable arm of the Toronto Argonauts Football Club.  Entitled “Believe in Them: An Evening to Support Youth Empowerment” presented by The Amalgamated Transit Union: Local 113, the June 3 cocktail reception featured words from Canadian Football Hall of Famer Michael “Pinball” Clemons, Argonauts alumnus Chuck Winters and youth guests who have been touched by the work of The Argos Foundation. Hosted by The SHAMBA Foundation, this event raised just under $19,000 in gross proceeds.

After another successful school year, The Argos Foundation, Tim Hortons and the Canadian Safe School Network are ready to kick off this year's Huddle Up Bullying Prevention School Program.

Thank You Walmart!

At the last Argos game of the 2009 season, Walmart Canada presented members of The Argos Foundation with a cheque for $50,000 as a result of the annual Paper Football Fundraising Campaign.  Thank You Walmart, and Thank You Fans, for supporting the campaign! 

 

Thank You Scotiabank!

In front of a crowd of 25,329 fans, Scotiabank presented members of The Argos Foundation with a cheque in the amount of $25,000!  This is the fourth year that Scotiabank has generously supported The Argos Foundation, donating a total of $100,000!
